About DEBI
The Devon Environmental Business Initiative (DEBI) is
- a non profit-making organisation and a registered charity
- set up by business representatives to support other businesses in Devon
- run by a board of cross-sectoral, voluntary directors
- supported financially and in-kind by its corporate supporters and members as well as through sponsorship
DEBI Mission
To inform, support and motivate businesses, of all sizes and from all sectors in Devon to adopt environmentally sound and profitable business policies and achieve environmental best practice.
DEBI Objectives
To disseminate information on developments in environmental legislation, management systems and environmental best practice to businesses in Devon by:
- Publishing DEBI News six times a year
- A fortnightly email broadcast
- Providing opportunities to network and share information through member events
To motivate and recognise environmental best practice and the environmental achievements of businesses in Devon by:
- Organising an annual Environmental Award Scheme
- Publicising environmental success stories in DEBI News
To forge links with business and environmental groups and to liaise with governmental and non-governmental organisations by:
- Inviting them to become Associates of DEBI
- Organising joint events and activities where practicable
